Have you ever been in a season where you genuinely couldn’t see a way forward?
Where everything felt uncertain, overwhelming, and unstable — and no matter how hard you tried to “fix it,” “plan it,” or “understand it,” the path ahead still felt hidden?
This week on the podcast, we’re talking about something that has been sitting heavy on my heart lately: dry ground.
Over the last few weeks, I kept noticing that phrase repeated throughout scripture. And the more I studied it, the more I realized something that completely shifted my perspective:
Dry ground was never created out of nowhere.
It was already there.
God simply revealed it when the waters receded.
That truth hit me hard.
Because so often in our own lives, we stand staring at impossible situations — financial stress, broken relationships, anxiety, uncertainty about the future, grief, exhaustion, fear — and assume there’s no way through it. We pray for God to remove the problem entirely. We ask Him to calm the storm immediately. We beg Him for answers, clarity, certainty, and control.
But what if God is already making a way underneath the surface?
What if the path exists even when you can’t see it yet?
In this episode, we walk through several moments in scripture where God created “dry ground” for His people — from creation itself, to the parting of the Red Sea, to Joshua crossing the Jordan River into the promised land.
And each story reveals something different about how God works.
Sometimes dry ground looks like boundaries that protect you in the middle of chaos.
Sometimes it looks like miraculous deliverance from something that should have destroyed you.
And sometimes it looks like obedience before clarity — stepping into the water before God parts it.
We also talk honestly about:
Why we crave certainty so badly
The tension between faith and control
What it means to keep moving forward when you can’t see the outcome
How peace from God often comes before understanding
And why staying still can sometimes keep us stuck longer than the situation itself
One of the biggest reminders for me while recording this episode was this:
God never asked Moses to figure out how to split the sea. He simply told him to keep moving forward.
And maybe that’s the reminder some of us need right now too.
You don’t have to know every detail.
You don’t have to see the entire plan.
You don’t have to understand everything God is doing before you take the next step.
Sometimes faith simply looks like walking toward the water trusting that God will make a way.
